A person can make it worse by gaining weight; consuming excessive alcohol; taking medications such as spironolactone, cimetidine, ranitidine or medicines containing estrogens and using illegal substances such as methamphetamine, amphetamines and marijuana.
Foods to avoid Dairy and meat. All animal products contain traces of estrogen because even male animals produce the hormone. Alcohol. Research suggests that chronic alcohol misuse can lead to low testosterone and increased estrogen. Grains. Legumes.
Chest exercises can make gynecomastia worse. Extra weight, use of steroids, excessive eating, etc. can make gynecomastia worse.
