Ovarian cancer is the most common gynecological tumor. Patients often present late in ovarian cancer with vague abdominal discomfort, low back pain, bloating, altered bowel habits, and weight loss. People experience complications like loss of fertility, menopause, recurrent infections, pleural effusion, perforated colon, bleeding which won't stop easily, anemia, edema, fatigue, unintentional weight loss, ascites, bowel obstructions, bone pain. Few complications may arise due to treatment as well, such as infections, bleeding, leukemia, neuropathy, renal disorder, thrombocytopenia, ototoxicity, hernia.

Some possible complications of ovarian cancer include: metastasis to other organs; fatigue or weakness; nausea, vomiting, or constipation; low blood cell counts (anemia); ascites that is collection of fluid in the abdominal cavity; tumors may block or obstruct the intestines or bladder; malnutrition from cancer side effects; and pleural effusion causing breathing difficulties.
