However, a lower daily dosage of turmeric (best consumed as part of a meal) may aid in faster bowel transit time which leads to a decrease in constipation. Doses of up to 8 grams per day for limited periods of time have shown to product no toxic effects in most individuals.

Some people have experienced stomach pain, cramps, nausea, diarrhoea and constipation from eating turmeric. This will vary for every individual as many can consume up to eight grams of turmeric without experiencing any issues and there are those that will encounter some problems.
